Successful LC II Capacitor Replacement

Successful LC II Capacitor Replacement Hardware 7 posts Aug 3, 2007 — Jan 22, 2008
I have successfully replaced every capacitor on my LC II motherboard.

The sound is fixed! Sweet, glorious, 8 bit, 22 KHz sound now emanates from my LC II without distortion.

Perhaps some other problems are fixed as well, ones which I did not notice, but primarily my concern was the sound.

That's awesome. [:D] ]'>

I think I might have to do the same soon. I'm getting a squealing sound from the speaker. Is this what happened to you?

hmm... my LC 1 needs a cap replacement too... it suffers the bad squeaking sounds.

That's pimp. And pimpin' ain't easy. :)

Just did the 3 10uf caps closest to the sound chip. I lost one of the traces on the 4th, however, my sound works properly now.

Make sure PDS cards still work. I think some of those are related to the PDS card.

the Xceed ColorFusion i´ve got in there works, as everything else does... mine only seems to suffer the sound problem...
