$5 Asante EN/SC

I got this today, and I haven't tried it though. What interesting is the lack of a power plug. So it it powered by SCSI I guess? Cool though. It's called Desktop EN/SC.

The Asanté EN/SC family includes ADB bus-powered for PowerBooks, SCSI bus-powered for AIO Classics and 12V AC-powered for the rest. Read all about them here. Your AIO won't know itself when it can talk directly to the Big Computers with inbuilt ethernet.
PS You will need a 10Base-T hub between the EN/SC and the LAN. And BTW, $5 was a steal.

I had mine connected to a 10/100 switch with no problems. It depends on the switch.PS You will need a 10Base-T hub between the EN/SC and the LAN. And BTW, $5 was a steal.
I think I paid over $20 for mine on eBay. They are really rare.
SCSI/Ethernet? I might have one of those around... unless I gave it to the guy that got my SE/30....
o rly? mine has the transformer, and it won't work on my Plus without it. I could never get mine working, but next time I have it all set up, I could try.SCSI bus-powered for AIO Classics
and there was a little black one made just for powerbooks, and ADB powered. Very cute. I think it was called the Asante Mini EN/SC.

Mine works great on my LC475

You are very lucky! I've been looking for one of these for ages but none have turned up on UK eBay for months.
I wasn't trying to be exhaustive in cataloguing them all, but to give a quick knockdown about the range. I have also an older model of Asanté desktop EN/SC adapter, 4x8x1.5in and about 1lb, with two DB-25 ports and a SCSI ID selector switch (instead of using a fixed ID=6), an AUI and a BNC port. This one certainly needs the 12V AC adapter. The others that I referred to are of the small (2.5x4.5x1in) form factor, which Asanté also used for LocalTalk adapters.... o rly? mine has the transformer, and it won't work on my Plus without it. I could never get mine working, but next time I have it all set up, I could try...
