The first problem is when it boots up, the flashing mac appears-then disappears for a few seconds-then reappears. When a SAM boot disk is loaded there is no problems with the screen.

The hard drive will not boot. When the SAM boot disk loaded, the hard drive was visable and useable.

What happens if you try booting from a regular OS 7 boot disk?

Used a set of 7.1 disks to upgrade from 6.05 and it works perfect.

You've enabled 32-bit mode on your system software, but don't have the Mode32 7.5 init installed.

Try zapping PRAM.
