I have a 5300 that I can't use along with a 1400c I can't use. I don't have a power supply and I refuse to pay $14.95 + $15 for shipping from some e-bay guy.

Someday a kind soul will bless me with a power supply.

Do you not have one of those adapters that work with loads of them (Duos, G3 PowerBooks, earlier G3 iBooks, most pre-G3 PPC PBs)? I think they can power the 1400 (not the 5300 though). I know how annoying it is to get the laptop but not the adapter, it's happened twice to me, but both times I found an adapter for free (once on Freecycle, once from uni) so hopefully you'll find one soon!
