Paris is cute, it costed far less than protools systems and offers great sounding converters and a little bit of DSP, mostly used for summing and EQ.
somewhat similar to protools you can run up to 8 or 9 cards, and each of them offers another 16 channels of IO, the limit is only the PCI bus (not sure where exactly it is)
if you really dont like the recroding software by intelligent devices for some reason, as far as i remember the paris cards also work with cubase, nuendo, logic and SVP.
ensonic also offered matching remote controls, no idea how difficult it is to find one these days (or is one included in yours?)
