Thanks. I am familiar with using an ethernet hub and software NAT to have multiple computers online, and I wish to avoid that. If you do that, then one computer has to be in charge and always be online, and all the traffic has to go through that computer to the others. I want to go with a hardware Router.

I am also not sure if you are talking about a DSL modem or a regular modem. Right now I am leaning towards getting a DSL modem on ebay and getting a Linksys router.
