Airport cards not recognized Troubleshooting 1 post Aug 11, 2002
This bug has been known since the introduction of Airport. It never happened to me. Until now. -I got myself a new TiBook 667 DVI, and swapped the Airport card from an old TiBook 400 over into the new TiBook. The card didn`t show up in 10.1.5. "Cannot find AirPort Card" -I have tried clean installs of both 10.1 (With all the necessary updates), Jaguar and OS9.2.2, numerous restarts, fsck -y`s, PRAM zappings etc, etc. I`m fed up.

OS9 gives me the old -3278 error. Searching Apple`s forums for this error gives you PLENTY of results. Only trouble is there is no consistent fixes for the error. Some people tried new cards (-Or rather got new cards from Apple), and that worked for them. For others it didn`t help the least. I have tried 4 different cards, both old and new type cards, all with the same result. -And they all work in my old TiBook 400. On my new TiBook they are all found, recognized, and deemed healthy and working by the Apple Hardware Test CD! I have found some files in /private/var/db/ that looks interesting. Could these files maybe be modified and get a card to be recognized? Surely in OSX one could modify some hidden configuration file, and get this sorted? -Or maybe not? Getting relly fed up with this. Anyone got a clue?
