Linksys BEFW11s4 & Enabling FTP

I've been trying to enable FTP with my new Linksys BEFW11s4 v.2 4 port hub/DSL router. I use Sympatico DSL in Toronto and OS 10.1.5. Can anyone help with step by step idiot prrof instructions. I consider my self a pretty knowledgeable user but after trying for a couple of weeks, I've given up.

What I've done so far:

-Enabled sharing/FTP in Control Panel
-Enabled Service Port Range 20-21 under Advanced Forwarding page for router
-Disabled Block WAN request in Filters

I'm stumped? BTW what address are people supposed to FTP to Linksys info says 192.168.1.100 (where 100 is my computer's DHCP address, but I don't believe that can be it. I've also tried the actual WAN IP address without success.

Have you gone into the "UPnP Forwarding" and enabled port 21 to forward to 192.168.1.100?

Yeah, I enabled port 20-21 and forwarded to 192.168.1.100

So many options, so many settings, so un-mac-like.

One thing I had already done but did not mention, was that in the TCP/IP tab in the Networking control Panel I set "Configure" to Using DHCP and entered the "Domain Name Servers" address, obtained under "Status" tab of Linksys page. Second under the "Advanced", "DMZ Hosting" tab of the linksys page I entered the address of my computer, ie. 100

try this....

In the Network System preferences panel -- Under proxies --

Select 'Use Passive FTP mode'

I'm using 10.2......And it says "to use FTP to retrieve files while the firewall is on, enable passive FTP mode"

Sorry for not maikng myself clear, but by enabling my DMZ host address ip under the advanced settings I get eberything to work, last week.

I'm now looking for some sort of sw that will monitor and keep a log of access to my drives either when ftp, network access, or web sharing is enabled. Ideally I'd like to know what drives people are going to and what is being transferred. This is assuming that I've given people access.

You can not use DHCP and port forwarding. you will have to turn off dhcp and enter the address on your mac statically.
