How do you start an ISP co-op?
My basic intent is to start an ISP co-op in my town. Does any one know of a good source for infomation on how to do this?
The area that I live in only has access to 28k dialup service (it is really 56k, but my town is just so far away form the ISP that the average connect for everyone is 28k). The local phone company does not offer anything (no DSL, ISDN, T1, nor Dialup) There is no Cable access either.
I estimate that there is enough people in the town to support a local ISP and I may have access to a grant to fund the startup. I have some general skills and knowledge of ISP�s but I am not sure that I have enough info to start the co-op yet.
