Need Cable modem for AT&T internet

Next week I will have my AT&T cable internet service installed. I need to purchase a modem. There are numerous brands listed as acceptable. Some of the familiar brands include 3 Com, D-Link, Linksys and several others. I will be using it with OS X and in a three computer AirPort network. What do you suggest? Should I just go for the cheapest? Thanks

I'm sure any of the major brands will be fine. A good source for broadband stuff is http://dslreports.com ... there is a lot of good stuff (boards, programs, etc...) there. I'm using AT&T and have a Motorola SurfBoard 4100... absolutely no complaints here!

I use a motorola surfboard 3100 with my at&t. You should really consider leasing because you only save $3 a month if you own your modem. I was going to purchase my own when it was $10 savings. Factor in the fact that they have to replace it if it fails or if lightning hits it, I'd pay that extra $3 for the benefits.
