Problems connecting to university lan
Im pretty new to the mac world and to the wireless world. I got my ibook just 2 weeks ago and purchased my airport card 2 days ago.
I followed what directions I thought I had too and registered the MAC address of teh airport card online with the university and expected to be able to use the wireless facilities in 24 hours. Well after not having my ibook find the wireless network where I was, even though other people were using it next to me in their pc laptops. I decided to try it out in the library. i was able to find a network there but I didn't get access to the internet.
I clicked to use the signal if found but it asked me for a password?
I tried putting my univ user id in, univ pass, and the name of the univ even.
I am confused. I have emailed the school tech dept, but have yet to hear a response.

I'm guessing that you're trying to get on a closed network. Your system administrator is going to have to give you the name of the network to use and the password to get on the network (and it won't be *your* password).
You could ask some of the people next to you what the password is. Try that.
