Jag: Create a hidden Airport software base station?
I was wondering if anybody knew a way to create a software basestation in Jaguar that does not show up in people's Airport lists, instead they must know the name of the network and type it in to get to the basestation? If I recall this was an option in the OS 9 basestation, but I don't see a way to do it in 10.2. Is there a trick to it, or a way to do it using IPNetShareX? Any insights are welcomed.
That's odd. I'm sitting here in 10.1.5 looking at the Airport Admin Utility and it has the ability to create a 'closed network' (where someone has to know the name of the network to join). I'm surprised it wouldn't be in 10.2....

Thats the util for the hardware basestation. Is there a way to do it with the software basestation?
Has anybody figured out a way to do this yet??

Looks like you oughtta be able to do just that with the AirPort options in the "Internet" tab and "Firewall" tab in the "sharing" CP.
Has anyone found a way to do this? I also, can't seem to find an option to make my airport network closed.
