Sharing internet computer to computer w/out router...
This is probably a dumb question as I'm sure I should know the answer but here goes...
I've just helped my sister set up her broadband (cable) connection that enters her PM8500 (with G3/400) via the built in Ethernet. Works marvellous. Anyway, she also has her iBook which she often needs to exchange files with, so as it is at the moment, if she wants to do this, she unplugs the modem and plugs in a crossover cable. This also works fine. Obviously, this isn't exactly an elegant or practical solution.
So, here's the question (finally!) - if I installed a 10/100 Ethernet card into the 8500 a put the crossover cable into it, is there a simple way that would allow the iBook to share the internet connection as well as exchange files?
A router is the obvious solution, but she's just started up her own business, so money isn't exactly dripping off the walls yet!
Any help greatly appreciated...

the answer is� yes!
what system is on the 8500?
assuming it's OS 9, you're going to look into IPNetRouter, which is a software router from http://www.sustworks.com/.
if it's OS X, get Brickhouse. i don't know the URL, though. search for it in this forum.
