how do i config brickhouse ip sharing with X and XP Networking 2 posts Aug 24, 2002 — Aug 31, 2002
I think i have the mac set up right. Im trying to use brickhouse and an old hub to share an adsl connection till my router comes in, but i am having trouble getting it all to work.

On my mac, i have enabled ip sharing, set up a incoming gateway (does it matter what ip addy i set it at?) and left the app open.

i have the adsl connected to the uplink part of my router and my mac has no problems connecting just like i did when i had the dsl modem connected directly. but the problem i am having, it i dont know what i need to do with winXP

the adsl connects via PPPoE, and it has a dynamic ip

What do i have to do on the pc to get it to connect though my computer? in my system preferences i have an ip address and a router address, but no subnet mask. Is this sufficiant? Any help would be appreciated
All you should need to do is set the PC's default gateway to the IP address you assigned to your second NIC.

in this way the PC sends its data to the Mac, which then relays it up through your DSL connection.

The two NICs on the Macs should have different IP addresses and subnet masks. For example, if you're using 192.168.1.x on your existing DSL network, use 10.1.x.x on your second nic.
