There is a 'checkout' function in MM 2.1.1 to allow users to take laptops out of the network system. Once checked out, they have the same privileges but can only save to the local user docs folder in a folder called BackPack. When the computer is checked back in the contents of the backpack folder are copied to the users home directory.

This is all well and good but as we have 20+ of the ivory things to give (I said 'give') to teachers, we tested one first to ensure all was hunky dory. But there was a problem with copying email preferences (this is second hand dialogue as I am just the gopher here) - the preferences are not located and the iBook hangs at this point - searching, no doubt, for the elusive email preferences. Do we need to offer directions - or are we doing something wrong. Is there a cure for this condition?

All ideas welcome. There is much scratching of many heads here. And I bet we are overlooking something very simple .

Answers as always much appreciated
