Anyone using 10.2 VPN? Help! Troubleshooting 4 posts Aug 31, 2002 — Sep 4, 2002
I just got 10.2 installed, and one of the 150 "great new features" (TM) is built-in VPN. Since I also got a VPN login from work, I thought I'd finally give it a try. So I went to internet connect, typed in the VPN address, and my login, and wham! Connected. Sweet I thought. But then no internet connections were possible in IE - either to the VPN or elsewhere. I am behind a linksys BEFSR41 - router - is that a problem for VPN use???

Hi Lee,

I too am anxious to try out VPN in 10.2...I believe you are right to some degree about the BEFSR41, I believe it only supports 1 VPN user and if I remember correctly you have to configure the passthrough IP address or something. I'm sure someone has gotten this to work...there is info on this in the manual or website...

Let us know what you find out...

Tim
I have the same problem; I can connect to my company VPN, but cannot access anything. I wonder if it is because I am not able to actually log on to our NT server.Using VirtualPC and the Win98 supplied VPN dialer, I can connect and access everything just fine. I also have a Linksys BEFSR41 connected to ATTBI cable. I can also plug in my Dell laptop w/Win2K and connect to the company VPN with no problem. So the router is not a problem. Previously, with 10.1.5 & DigiTunnel beta, I was also able to connect and access the VPN, but it only worked intermittently.

I had been very hopeful that 10.2 VPN would work, but so far it just does not.

I've got EXACTLY the same problem as DickG... someone PLEASE tell us how to connect to a server on the VPN... command-K plus the name of the server does not seem to work.
