I guess I'm treading in territory that simply isn't friendly to the "idiot" computer user.

I have two computers in my home office. One runs Windows XP home, and the other runs Jaguar. Both have ethernet ports. From what I have read, it should be possible to directly connect the two simply with an ethernet cord (no hubs, etc.) and then move files between the two. (All I really want to do is move some multimedia files--music, pictures--from the Windows computer to the Apple, but it would be nice for future reference to know how to make transfers either way.)

But I have not yet found a single resource anywhere that tells me in plain English how to set the settings on the two computers so that I can do this.

Anyone know how or know of a good reference on this?
