Linksys router and file sharing in AIM

Linksys router and file sharing in AIM Networking 5 posts Sep 4, 2002 — Sep 6, 2002
I am no closer to getting this to happen so I am posting again. Can anyone tell me how to allow file sharing in AIM using a Linksys router firewall? If anyone is file sharing with AIM can you give me detailed instructions on how to do this? I have been trying for weeks to turn the firewall off completely with no success. Frustrating!!!

Well I have a Linksys and my AIM works fine but you can try opening ports :5190 through 5190
Does it allow you to send files using AIM?

Yes actually without having to set anything up in the router. You might check if your buddy that you are sending files to has you set not to allow files from anyone not on the buddylist.
Thanks. I will check into that.
