I've got a graphite ABS connected to a cable modem, no routers, hubs or firewalls. I can connect fine with my G4 Powerbook on OS 10.2, but I cannot connect my G3 Powerbook on OS 9.1.

The G3 shows a connection and a valid IP address but a browser or email don't connect. I get server connection errors that are like those you get if you haven't set up a DNS address, but DHCP is working correctly for my G4.

I can connect the G3 by cable with the same configuration.

I can also connect both on the ABS via dialup.

Ideas?
