Automatic signup to network? Networking 3 posts Sep 15, 2002 — Sep 25, 2002
Hi,

Sorry, this has ended up as a cross post...

I'm wondering if there is any way I can set two Macs (10.2) to log into eachother at startup.

At the moment I have to go through the whole "connect to server" routine, which is a drag.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Simon
Connect to your server(s) and at the log in to that server click the options and check add to keychain.

Make a favourite of the server you want to connect to. ( ie drag the server icon to favourites folder)

You can now select the server in any open/save dialogue or finder window without resigning in.

So in short there is no need to mount the server at a start up as it is at your finger tips anyway
If you did have computer A automatically log into computer B at start up (and vice versa), wouldn't you have to have them turned on at almost exactly the same time to keep from getting an error that the other computer is unreachable? Having the other computer "a click away" sounds like a lot friendlier way to go.

Just a thought...
