Thanks for the down-to-earth examination of your experience, particularly after the rant before your post. Ok, so Johnnie doesn't like PCs. He bought a Mac, didn't he? Isn't that enough of a statement? If he wants to interact with PCs, he's going to have to deal with thier technical details, whether he likes them or not.

Since I started out with PCs, the idiom (I _Will NOT_ say "paradigm") differences between PCs and Macs gave me some problems, but they're really only minor differences. Frankly, since both user interfaces came from Xerox PARC, there shouldn't be too many differences at all. However, the technical implementations of some shared features, such as networking, are details that often must be different because of hardware differences.

The differences are sort of like driving a car built for the US, then driving one built for the UK-very similar, but since I grew up in North America, I sure don't want to try driving a stick shift in England! Too much of a difference for my personal coordination to deal with. If your toys are too difficult for you, get simpler toys, or play simpler games with them. (Ok, I've cooled off now.)
