I received my new PM G4 today and so I (tried) setting up down stairs (where the cable modem is). So I plug the RJ-45 cable into the PM and plug in all the necessities and start her up.
Go through the registration steps including setting up the network (or so I thought).
I entered in my DHCP, and just to be safe I added in the DNS addresses. The PM acquired a new IP and I thought I was done. So OS X starts up and I click on the internet to see how it runs. No luck. Doesn't find any server.
So I think that for some reason it didn't remember my preferences. So I go to the System Preferences and check my network preferences and they are just like I specified them.
Is there any reason why my PC (what I'm using now) will work (i.e. access the internet, check email, yadda yadda yadda) and why my PM doesn't know what's going on? Perhaps I forgot something.
Any help (for this Mac newbie) is greatly appreciated.
