You should also go to System Preferences, Network, proxies tab, and remove proxies there (write them down in case you should need to add them back later)
you got into the admin page at the linksys.
You selected PPPoE in the WAN type connection box.
You entered your username and password into the PPPoE fields in the linksys page.
You pressed Apply.
You used the status link at the top of the page.
On the linksys status page, you pressed connect.
It refreshed the page several times, and connected.
You should make sure that the linksys has enabled DHCP to connect to the tibook, and that the tibook's airport is configured to use DHCP assigned IP addresses in System Preferences / Network .
