nixed all prefs in Network, reset router, started over, the wireless router will go and get an ip adress in the acceptable range, but when i try to log on the linksys site (168.192.1.1) it says that it cannot find a proper server. i do not understand why this is happening, because a week ago it was working fine. this is very frustrating and i know i seem to be a mac rube, but if someone out there who has a linksys wireless router and also connects to the internet using a PPPoE log on name and pass word, could list the steps they successfully use to gain acess, i would be much obliged . please, teach me how to fish, to all linksys naysayers, the routers work very well and have a much greater range than the Airport base station. even though this post points to the contrary. i also nixed the proxy settings in Network and in IE5, does this matter?
