I have an airport card inside the Tibook. Like a gazillion others reporting on various forums, I get terrible range with airport in the Tibook. (The reigning theory is that the metal casing interferes with the tiny internal antennas attached to the airport card.) Many have reported significant range extensions by using a Cisco card in the external "PC card" slot.

Knowing that, would you still say PCMCIA?
