enter the DNS numbers in the proper fields in the base station's options/config (available via the airport admin utility). I had to do this in order to get a (white) base station to work with DSL--it wasn't enough to connect it and turn on PPPoE; I had to enter the DNS server IP addresses and it worked after that.
