instead of calling about the MAC address, you can often power down your cable modem. just unplug it--kill its power. now configure your base station (you can use the airport setup utility, rather than airport admin util, for simplicity) and power on your cable ethernet modem. then power on base station. for modems that don't like switching MAC addresses, this is usually a solution (unless you have a *really* persistent sucker ).
