Milk 1.5 preview

Looks nice.. One of my favorite themes, thanks.

Looks very clean. I assume this is an iPod inspired theme? The only thing I would think about changing are the buttons. The ipod button is a raised button set in a groove. Your buttons look like they're floating (like Aqua).

It's actually a iMac inspired theme, more than an iPod theme. I like the floating buttons, but the progressbars have the necessed look though.

Max's Milk is iMac inspired, my Pearl is iPod inspired.

I think this version of Milk has done the impossible- improved on an already damn near perfect beginning.

The only thing that still doesn't do it for me are the tabs. I just don't find it very easy to see wich one is the selected tab. Other than that....near perfect, but that allready was the case.

Why is the "-" greyed out and the other 2 aren't in some windows? Looks wierd.

They are greyed out because they are being clicked. So that is the mouseover and clicked state.

Overall I think this theme looks great, design wise that is, but I find it a wee bit too bright. Any chance of doing a version which, colour-wise, looks like smooth stripes??

It's the same background color as SmoothStripes. But the bright button makes it brighter of course. I'm not planning on any darker version though.

The update looks excellent and is more refined than the 1.2 versions.

I was, and still am, a huge Milk fan. Even with all the BBX hysteria, I would argue Milk is the nicest theme of yours.

I really love it....so now i re-ask you a thing about localized version.
I found the file in the Finder package...i should open it with resorcerer (the demo) and i find the "picts"...now....i try with some file to use resorcerer...ma i don't understand how can i simply replace the same resorce with other...for exemple i'm tryng to replace the "old" view/arrow in smoothstripes (that i see in my italian X) with your flat ones.....but i reallt don't understand how i can simply copy and paste this resource fromm your file localized in english to my localized file....any help?
I really want this theme...please help me...i could localized it for all the world if you would!!!

Which theme's finder buttons do you want? I'll create them for your language.

You should be able to select the PICT rsrc and choose select all, copy it into the Italian localized.rsrc and save. Then it should work. I know this sucks, but I think future Duality versions will eliminate that problem.

I actually made Milk right after I removed my first illegal port of BBX, so they are kind of related. And I made this update right after the offical release of BBX.

wow. beautiful. i guess it will replace smooth-stripes which i'm using at the moment.

who in their right mind would ask for that? Max please dont.. stuff looks so odd with the brushed look and a themes widgets buttons. i have had a mac about 3 months and i have used milk about 90% of the time b/c i thought it was the only complete theme.

i didn't think it was possible to fall in love with the same theme twice.

Now that 10.2.3 has given brushed apps their own widgets...the brushed apps no longer need to use the theme's widgets. Still, I agree that brushed apps and Milk look odd. That's why there's Unsanity's metallizer to demetallify the brushed apps.

Thanks Max for not eliminating the chrome widgets...thats how I prefered the theme, or else...too much white!! Ahh I'm in an asylum!

This theme is so clean and white...makes me wanna clean my room and repaint it white. Should have called this theme "Sterile" ( as in being free of germs and all other contamination, like a needle at a hospital )

sure metallizer is great for apps, but what about other stuff that shows up brushed? i havent see a way to fix that. if i could i would even make a milk itunes skin. and yes i love the chrome too, i think thats what makes the theme.

Metallizer of old use to DeMetallize everything that used the brushed look from the Extras.rsrc....now you have to demetallize them one by one manually.

And unfortunately iTunes can't be "milkified" since it only uses grey as a background. As of yet you cant make it any other color

nice work boozoo i was wondering for the finder toolbar instead of the circle back n forth arrows can you make em squared instead? it looks so much better squared, and also can you make milk have brushed metal for ichat and all the original apps that use the brushed metal texture? i love this theme but i prefer my ichat and other default iapps in brushed... was wondering if you can do that plz...

I really wish that milk 1.5 had brushed apps have the white theme appearance too. Using unsanity hacks has been proven to bring about problems because of the application enhancer engine.
Oh well, I dont use the brushed apps much anyways!

Very nice update...but I actually miss your chrome/pearl like widgets. They needed a little refining, but were a nice touch. Any chance of doing an entire theme with the look of those old widgets?

Gradients suck! Remove all gradients!

The only reason I quit using Milk was the small tabs.

In apps like DreamWeaver they look terrible. The gaps are not pretty.

I think i'll be using Milk again after a long Smooth Stripes period.

Milk 1.5 seems even better than your previous version. I didn't really care for Milk, but I'm eagerly anticipating the arrival of Milk 1.5. Milk does the body GOOD!
