I've got a suggestion. The version with the metal buttons shouldn't have any blue at all anywhere! And the menus should be really cool transparent black ones like the Mercury theme. That's what I did to my copy of your theme and it looks great! The main reason I use brushed half the time is to get away from that darned blue and since you are doing one version with heavy blue everywhere the other version could go without!
