The update for BeOSX to 10.2.3 as well as a near 100% overhaul is complete. It is MUCH nicer than the previous release. I'd like some fans of the original BeOS to offer some feedback after using it. Even if your not a fan, check it out, it comes with a rock solid Aqua Restore so switch with confidence. I suggest using ThemeChanger with all my themes since Duality's latest release dislikes the 10.2.3 tag in the theme file.

Thanks its look great! I love BE OS interface very much!
Yeah, great! Looks even better than the original BeOS (for example, full yellow title bar, instead of the classic BeOS partial, almost "widgets only" one)...

P.S.: To be fully coherent, however, the Apple Menu should be something like BeOSX, or an apple + BeOS logo, etc.: after all, it's only a theme!

That's the only thing I don't like about the theme, I would like a yellow apple instead of the big BeOS logo.
Nice work swiz. Impressed.
Sounds good folks, a yellow Apple Logo will be added to the Graphite option in general system prefs. Look for it the day after Christmas.
I think this logo would be the best choice for the Apple menu.

I second that.

Hey Kevin, have you ever considered making the titlebar endcaps wide enough to cover the buttons and then making the right endcap transparent?

Yeah I did do that because I was considering releasing an exact BeOS replica titlebar version but the transparency is a night mare to move windows and I new that in reality no one would use it for longer than to say, "hey look, its BeOS... just kidding.
If I get enough requests though, I'll release it with the next update.

Why would be it a nightmare? They can still see the rest of the titlebar. I think it would make it unique... the only real nightmare might be when the text flows into the transparent side, it'll look odd but it would still work.

Not only would the text float but so would the toolbar widget... that would look kind of funky as well. But either way, it may still be cool just to see it done.

Swiz, this is a beautiful theme, am I right in assuming that I can get this to install w/ Duality 4 MS2 by chaning the 10.2.3 tag to 10.2? 'Cause I've given ThemeChanger two chances now and it's messed me up both times...

Edit: just to clarify, I've given ThemeChanger two chances now *with my theme* and it didn't work, so I'm avoiding that changer for now with any themes... I'm sure it installs BeOS fine though.

When I made the traditional BeOS style titlebar I just made the toolbar widget invisible, which I will do when I release it, otherwise it iwll look ridiculous.

Thanks for the compliment Carbon, I am really pleased with them theme too.

Im still going to look into why your Watercolor theme is having issues with ThemeChanger, I'll post my findings here so that others may find a possible solutioin if they run into a similar porblem later on.

Merry Christmas all.
The toolbar is not always present....and I think when it is, seeing it float there is aesthetically pleasing.
BeOSX has been updated. It now sports the original BeOS square graphic as the "apple menu logo" when blue is selected in general system prefs and a yellow Apple when graphite is selected.

It also includes an alternate theme which utilizes the traditional original BeOS titlebar as requested.

Traditional titlebar Option

Is that a harken back to my use of the word "sick" in that one thread? If so, well done! LOL
