I recently tried out proteus, and found it a nice way to wait for Adium 2. However, something didn't feel right... that something was the status indicator icons that Proteus had. One of Adium's best features IMO is its simple and elegant status circles, so I ported them to a Proteus iconset. You can download it at www.mathgamehouse.com/files/AdiumIconSet.dmg

PS to other Adium users, I also found it nice to switch the switch message commands to command+arrow and the close message to command+r.
