Changing Desktop

I'd sure like that too, but I think that if it was possible someone would have done it by now. Also I think that it would be really slow and bog down the computer a LOT. because if you make your iTunes window almost as big as the screen it really goes slow. When iTunes runs full screen it really only renders a fourth of the screen and plays it double size... that's why it looks so much sharper in a window.

You can either use the terminal command or use backlight and have it as a background. Although I don't know how you'd ever get any work done!

I don't think that would work. That's not really an OSX screensaver that would work with backlight. That's just some hack that forces iTunes to do the visuals without any music playing. It's really boring without the music to make it dance too.

i just imagined the full screen visualizer running as the background...

that way it would not bog down the system (i am writing this on my roomate's dual 1ghz G4.

is there a visualizer engine? much like the screensaver engine that runs in the background hack?

You don't need to use the Terminal, it works like any other screensaver. What it does is launch iTunes in order to to use it's visualiser. And you can have music playing along with the visualiser if you want. I prefer the Flurry screensaver, it resembles iTunes visuals. And then there's the flurry screensaver...but I think you'd need a quartz extreme graphics card since it displays terribly on my non-QE Mac.
