Here are some desktops that were inspired by Macalicious.net's desktops. Macalicious took certain elements of the Finder or iTunes and over-sized them to create some great desktops. So I did more or less the same with the iPod and Brushed. Here are preview thumbnails:

P.S. I know I could create a thousand and one different variations, so I'll try to restrain myself. However, I will be releasing a few other variations later on.

Ok, guess some people like the faux fur (isn't that so politically correct of Apple, "Faux" fur...it's a desktop, of course it's "Faux" : ). Anyhow, you asked for it...you got it:

Nice stuff, but shouldn't the iPod displays be bitmapped at the approriate resolution, rather than a hi-res "X" etc? Might look cooler if you mimic the actual iPod display..

I don't think they call it 'Faux' because it's just an image on a desktop, but because it's not a picture of a real dead animal, it's a computer generated pattern using the technology developed by Pixar to do the furry animals in Monsters inc. Fur is the toughest thing to do with computer animation (or at least it used to be.)

Anyhow, I've created new variations (where will I stop, nobody knows). Here's a preview pic that doesn't do justice to the actual desktop (the background is Aqua Stripes):
