That might be true, but I think 128x128 is too large. The aqua pattern is 8x8 and I often use 32x32 and I think that might speed it up. But when they get large and more complicated, I think they might be slower to draw. I'm just guessing though.

It helps to run the Brushed version with Brushed menus, since they are opaque.
