None of this answers the burning question... why can't newscasters say "Qatar" two times in a row with the same pronouciation?

"Gutter"
"Cutter"
"Guttar"
"Cuttar"
"Guitar"

Up until this war, I'd always pronounced it "Ka - Tar." Well, I stil do, but nobody else seems to.
