In order for Iraq to survive to any degree I think two things would have to happen:
- they drag out the war for a few months in urban combat, inflicting casualties.
- increase in civilian casualties
- they DON"T use WMDs. If they start using mustard or sarin gas they will lose all political momentum for their cause in the world.
So, presuming that the Iraqi leadership doesn't 'crumble from within' like the US forces are praying for, I can't really see a happy ending for this war. Its just going to cause more death and destruction for everyone and plunge the entire region into even more instability.
