The problem was where and how he said those things. He said them in a government run media outlet which many feel is also being used for command and control. He didn't add the usual caveats to the report. Further he should have known how the Iraqi government would have used the report.

That was irresponsible.
Not to mention that the interviewer was, apparently, wearing an Iraqi Army uniform.
