Another Opinion
My friend has an interesting, if not offensive, viewpoint on the war. He thinks we should bomb the f**k out of Iraq, and "wipe the slate clean". Well, now that I have THAT out of my system, flame on.

This is as much a public relations war as it is a military war.
Some battles are won (Iraq torturing it's own people and our POWs), some are lost (accidental shooting of the van full of civilians).
To turn Iraq into glass, to have the weather report for Baghdad be 5000 degrees and cloudy, etc. is just stupid.
The PEOPLE in Iraq are not our enemy. The military and Saddam's government are. Until they surrender.

Your friend is a ****ing idiot.
While that would probably end this quickly with no loss of American soldiers, it would be a political and human relations nightmare. It would be very stupid.
Much like the Idea of gathering all the bombers and loading all up with MOABs and just letting them fly in a ine and carpet bomb the entire country. STUPID!

It depends on whether or not you want Americans to be able to go on holiday abroad again without fearing for their lives. Genocide is what Hitler did. He attempted to murder an entire people. That is what this would be. The results of that would be your country isolated from the rest of the world and very possibly at war with many other countries. And some of those have glass making equipment too.

Though that might be good for some in our country who want the US to be more isolationist.
