My point is that his politics don't have much to do with "what's wrong with universities". Unless, of course, academics shouldn't be allowed to have strong opinions on politics or express them.
He wouldn't have a job if he wasn't a very well regarded scientist and a leader in his field.
Lots of "liberals" in universities is no more a problem than lots of "conservatives" in law enforcement.
