Good post. I agree fully that this is going to push nations that can to get involved in a huge arms race. From the link I posted yesterday, it seems as if the Indians are already worried about the USA and are calling for massive increases in armements. Iran will likewise have read the writing on the wall and will push to develop nuclear weapons as quickly as possible. China already knows this, from their confrontations with the USA over Taiwan, and Russia will probably likewise think earnestly about rearming and breaking off the disarmement of their strategic nuclear forces.

If that isn't bad enough, I think sooner or later there will be a really major clash, where the USA pushes some country up against the wall so to speak, with no room to manouver, which either means backing down or fighting.
