I don't know the details of this, but there is an agent that "caps" the reactive site of Acetylcholine esterase such that sarin can't bind. It is a slowly reversible reaction, so the effects are not supposed to be permenant. This is supposed to be administered immediately prior to exposure.
Some gulf-warsoldiers were given this agent. There are a lot of people who think that this might be the (or one of) the sources of Gulf War syndrome.
