we all look at "baghdad bob" and laugh because its so rediculous what he is saying, and complete lies. but obviously the arab world is taking it as the truth.

I think he's trying to find out who told YOU the arab world believes such and such...you know, like a link or something.
Most of the arab world doesn't believe in Santa Claus either.
I suppose that that is propaganda too.

Who cares? Let them think otherwise - doesn't make an inch of difference. Maybe it'll get through to them the next time they phone the Ministry of Information and instead of speaking with Abdul they'll get Chris from Ohio.

That is very difficult to believe.

i am not making up what i heard so no need to get defensive and make direct statements like that at me. the news was on when i walked in and thats what i heard, i didn't hear anything else.
the misinformation minister was saying that all the video that the US was in baghdad was all fake too. any chance that when arab stations had that playing that many people believed it?

Since you started this thread maybe it would be appropriate that you provided a link or two to back up your statements. Do that and we'll certainly find something to prove you wrong.

Arab friends, read many languages that makes it possible to read many different views, Al-Jazeera and Abu Dabi showing images from the fighting in the center of Bagdad. Do you need more?
What makes you so positive? Because you heard it on Fox News?

Your point being?
I heard that earlier too.
It was that cute little blonde girl broadcasting out of Amman, Jordan on FoxNC. (Watched it during commercial of Men in Tights on CC)
It was around the time the tank shell hit the Palestinian Hotel and the information minister was about to give a report. I got the impression they were just trying to fill time while trying to get their translator ready to go. She was just giving her opinion of some badly worded questions and overgeneralized a bit.

Speak arab? Did I ever say that I spoke arabic? I speak a couple of languages, never claimed I spoke arabic. What I seem to know more than you does not come from speaking arabic, it comes from the things I mentioned above.

the difficulty is that the report you refer to is an absolute, without wiggle room for variance in point of view in the arab world. It assumes monolithic beliefs merely based on someone's religion or ethnic background.
Since its set up as an absolute, all that anyone has to provide is knowlege of one exception to disprove it.
so, therefore, as long as they know even one person who knows that coalition forces are in Baghdad, or one arab news service who shows same, then the absolute supposition of the reporter you vaguely quote is proven moot.
Its the way you set up the thread...sorry. That's why everyone is rolling their eyes...and so, I shall contribute mine as well:

thus far, you've provided little in the way of support. He at least has mentioned knowing people who would know....you....nothing.

Is this really that hard to understand? Is my english really that bad?
I said I had arab friends! They speak as you call it arab! Though I thought it was called arabic. My arab friends speak both(I know this will cause you heartproblems) Icelandic/Swedish and Arabic. They have friends and family who are still on the middle-east. They tell me what they hear from "the other side". Do you get it now?

don't try to be a smart ass. it doesn't look good on you, or lerky either.
so what you are saying is that your friends speak on behalf of the entire middle east then?

Why do I bother??? Does the one reporter sitting in the studio talk for all of them? Your logic and reasoning is flawed........

I'm beginning to think so as well. Unfortunatly this isn't any different from his usual behaviour so it is hard to tell.

i am just saying just because you know a few middle eastern people hardly makes you any more of a person that is in the know than anyone else really. unless your friends are in every area of the middle east

I'll do this just for you.
My friends are from
1. Lebanon
2. Syria
3. Kurdistan
4. Iraq
5. Iran
6. Afganistan
7. Yemen
8. Palestine
I hope I didn't forget anyone. This gives a much more accurate image of the situation than some reporter in the studio back home.
I see you have yet to back up your statement with a link or any facts. Until you do please STFU.

It's probably not your fault you are so ignorant, but that isn't an excuse to keep playing stupid!
Anyway, continue your trolling.

wow. such hostility. you can say whatever but honestly, you have yet to prove anything more than me. i said what i heard and you said what you have heard. so when was the last time you talked to your friends in iraq, iran, palestine, yemen, afganistan, syria and lebanon?

I don't want to speak for Logic but WTF does he have to 'prove' to you about anything? That you are a racist? We already know that.

you don't know anything.
just because i don't view everything as black and white as you do, doesn't mean i am racist. what is so racist about any of my remarks in this thread? you can call me anything you want, i am not racist. i don't like the way that certain people do certain things, but trust me, they can be white, black, brown, yellow, or pale as can be and that has nothing to do with it. the only thing it does have to do with it, is when a topic comes up about that is about another race of people and people like you have nothing to say except you are racist. get a grip and come sit at the big boy table when you can communicate like one.
the fact that a simple topic like this ends up with you replying as above shows just the level of intelligence you are capable of discussing.

miss cleo would be proud. whats the big deal? i don't need a rise out of you all. its just funny to see all of you guys such experts on the minds middle eastern people. how do you know what they believe? i know if you get force fed enough info you probably start believing it. case in point: the iraqi people.
its funny too that the iraqi claim when we took over the airport was that we hadn't. even after we showed video and all of it, russian news was siding with the iraqi claim. so what do you think the russian people believed? there. that is not about middle eastern people. am i still being racist?
ok, now i just heard it again, this time i had a chance to actually watch it.
this was on foxnews, and like the guy above said, this time it was a blond chick that said it.
she said that many people, i think she was reporting from jordan, simple do not believe that the US is doing what they are reporting in baghdad. they think it is all a "staged hollywood production".
ok? i didn't make this thread to argue about it. just simply stated what was being reported from someone who actually was in the mix with people from an middle eastern country and is saying what she is seeing and hearing from that area.
personally i don't care whether who believes what. the truth is the truth.
