I think it is funny they are looting everything out of the government buildings. Kinda ironic.

"anarchy" doesn't mean "chaos." It means "without leaders." The two are not mutually inclusive.

It means a little more than without leaders:

I saw it reported that Washington is VERY worried about it escalating - retribution killings, crime, riots ect. Apparently they are gonig to institue marshal law in the next hours/days. An example, in Basra (a city of 1 mil) there is only 50% of the city with access to running water... and this isn't drinkable water either. They need to get some kind of order and start the humanitarian part ASAP.

It will be interesting to see how the Americans deal with the humanitarian situation in Bagdad compared to the British in Basra. In Basra for example, the British have already selected a leading cleric to form a kind of council to run the city for the time being. Will the Americans do this in Bagdad?... or will a US general control everything?

If Saddam pulls a Mullah Omar I'm going to shyte myself. I want to see that ****er stand trial and face the anger of his people.

To get picky about it, the definition of "anarchy" cannot be transposed directly onto the concept of social anarchy, which is what a society without government would be. Communism and socialism leaned toward these ideals, but they were practiced in the wrong place at the wrong time by totalitarian regimes no better than Saddam's..

LOL yea it would be a little anticlimactic if the best they can do is get a DNA sample from the rubble of that building they destroyed to prove he is dead. Then we could have 'Saddam sightings' for the next 30 years!

Even that would be hard because we don't have an authentic sample of his DNA anyway...DNA analysis from the site wouldn't do squat for proving him dead or alive.

Most all of those things listed in said pic, happen in many many many other places in this world.

The US doesn't have a monopoly on them I am afriad.

Go ahead and name three other countries where this happens as widespread as the US, and I will show you three countries who are emulating the US.

Of course, because these things never went on before the US was "around"

These are the actions of man. Not the actions of a country.

That poor boy with no arms, his house was bombed. He was bombed by the United States. Sure, it was a man who dropped the bomb, but it was his COUNTRY that was at war. Why is it impossible to believe that social and economic environments could result in man with altered behaviours. Honestly, the US is not the best country in the world, and it's only remained the economic superpower because of it's large military. The fear you all live with and the actions you take makes you a bunch of cowards.

Seems like someone is a tad moody today because things are looking better over in Iraq. That the US DIDN'T fail, and that the people of Iraq are GLAD the US is there. That crow must taste bitter.

Well the picture of the Iraqi man kissing a picture of Bush, in fact, all of the cheerleading of the war done by CNN and their embeded reporters, not to mention their selection of stories to run which paint the picture of Bush as a hero are biased media to influence the people. Hence, propoganda. You did what you were insulting me for doing. Hence the pot reference.

That isn't propaganda. I would call that reporting as to what was going on.

The discussion can now shift from the US not being justified and the Iraqi army not being as easy to roll over as we thought to how poorly you think the reconstruction will go. We'll just assume all your further discussions about killing thousands of babies are pretty much moot.
