I think it's made for earphones. I've seen US helmets similar to that, but they're not really designed to protect one in combat.

Could be some strange design adopted by an offshore arms exporting nation (I guarantee they didn't go to the trouble of doing their own from scratch). Definitely made by the low bidder.

Looks like old German hemlets. That is what Vader's helmet was modeled after.

If Lord Vader was fighting for the Iraqis the US would of been toast with all that pinchy chokey stuff and his lightsabering.

Actually Vader was modeled after a samurai, but even Lucas admitted, the Empire was supposed to have a Nazi like look to them, hence the helmets.

no its really the helmet that got modeled after a samurai one. its true that alot of the darkside uniforms are also inspired from nazis uniforms. but not vader. snowtroopers are also samurai inspired.
