Too bad Panasonic won't sell Q to American. They would have sold lot of copies.

woulda gotten the platnuim one if it was out at the us release.

I hope they do the color thing more responsibly with the next gen.

Jet - had to go to TRU Times Square just to get one everyplace in CT was sold out.

I got it when it came out about, and they only had the indigo one. I didn't care much at the time; I just wanted the damn thing right away.

So MindFad got to the store late and all the Jet 'Cubes sold out.

So I'm the only person who imported a silver Wave Bird? I'm probably also the only person who imported a digital controller.

Personally I would enjoy it more if they came out with games rather then colour variations of the system to push sales

Nintendo's got a bunch of **** to take of next generation anyway, I agree. The amount of first party games isn't the problem. 3rd party developers are starting to run off like it's the plague. Eidos is now stopping GC support. Acclaim is publishing its lineup and that will be it. Others have stopped. Search IGN for new articles on it. Even after Nintendo made a huge drop on licensing fees.

I agree on the colors, though. Jesus H. Christ, pick one color and stick with it. Do the color thing at the end of the systems if you just have to (like with the N64). If Nintendo wants a new image, it might help if they main focus of your system's many colors wasn't the ****in' purple one. Indigo schmindigo. It's ****ing purple. And if GC2 debuts with Luigi as a ****ing maid ghostbuster, I'll just sh�t.

I'm also psyched for FF:CC and Tales of Symphonia. And, man, Twin Snakes is looking sweeeet. Silicon Knights isn't afraid to build an engine that supports bump-mapping, yay. It's a nice escape from ported PS2 engines.

I did some research on the Panasonic Q, and it's really sweet! The only thing is that it's way overpriced (around $450) so I wouldn't know what to do. But I want one, just because it's so rare. Although, after all, I do have a Platinum GC, and apparently online stores don't sell them anymore.

That really isn't saying much though. It seems that the only one that develops for Nintendo is Nintendo.

Makes me think that Cash is right sometimes, I mean what would the big difference be if Nintendo was making the same games for Xbox, other then the games will have bigger storage capacity and online play. Heck they can even sell controllers if they wanted.

That was my point ... that Nintendo is making plenty of games, but 3rd support is dropping greatly. But you said Nintendo wasn't making enough games.

But Nintendo has money, the famous "marketshare," mindshare, and a future in hardware. SEGA had had many failures. They made a good decision going software-only. But I don't see why Nintendo should even think about doing that now. Despite the fact they said that wasn't in their plans.

I think Luigi's Mansion as the main release title was a huge mistake, and is directly responsible for the miserable marketshare the GamCube now holds.
Like millions of other people, I bought the original NES for Mario, I bought the SuperNintendo for Mario, I bought the N64 for Mario. When the GameCube came out there was no cool new Mario game to go with it.

I didn't buy my GameCube until Mario Sunshine was released. I also didn't buy any other games that were released before I bought my Cube because by then they were old, and I knew new things were on the way.
Had I bought the Cube earlier (at launch time WITH Mario), then there are a lot of titles I probably would have picked up. As it is now, I only have 5 GameCube games, and don't plan on buying any more, unless something really spectactular comes out.

They screwed up, not in the hardware (which is amazing) and not in the software (which is amazing) but simply in the timing. Every new console NEEDS a flagship game to move the boxes out the door and establish the base for future software sales. Nintendo didn't have that. A game where you tediously chase ghosts with an oversized penis pump is not a flagship title.

That's $450 to import a modified Q that plays games and DVDs from all regions. An unmodified, with unbroken warranty, Q bought in Japan will cost you much less.

They did the same with N64 and didn't learn. When it came out there was only Mario 64 (amazing) and pilot wings. It took 3 more months for Star wars to come out.

Cokers 64 was incredible but it bombed because by then the older people had all been playing Playstation and all the kids bought a N64 for Pokimon or whatever the **** is called. They even had a yellow N64 that looked like one of those things.

Agree with you there on your points. But at least it wasn't only two titles for a few *months* (like N64 with Mario and Pilotwings). I bet they have a bunch of great stuff planned for the launch. They're reusing the Wind Waker engine for the next GC Zelda, along with most of the characters. I bet Miyamoto has team split and already working on the next-gen Zelda, or at the very least in the planning stages. Hopefully it'll sport a new art style to please everyone.

As for the point, SWD, I explained it at the bottom there, after the "pffft." More pffft, because Cash thinks he's "right" about everything.

You mean quit hardware altogether? What reason do they have? They're not in SEGAs position at all (I explained that up there somewhere, I think) -- they're actually profitable. They're not coming off of years of failed systems. They're going along with a strong handheld market. Everyone's doing bad in the home console market according to each company's respective individual projections (not competitive numbers). Everyone's not quite making what they expected. Or so I remember reading -- if anyone's got news stating otherwise, post it. But no one's dying off, least of all Nintendo. Man, don't they have something like 24 billion dollars, or at least had it at the start of this generation?

If you mean why don't they make games for all systems including their own, that's nuts. Who in the hell would buy a GameCube, then? Hell, everyone would stop developing for Nintendo. It would be like Apple making OS X and all of its apps for x86. Who in the hell would buy a Mac then? I sure wouldn't.

No what I am saying is WHY can't they pull a sega, ditch the Nintendo hardware and concentrate on games? WHY shouldn't they.

I ended up getting the Platinum GameCube and imported four Platinum WaveBird Controllers from Taiwan and then I also purchased a Platinum GameBoy Player from the same guy. I was able to get a "used" US GameBoy Player Disc from my local Electronics Boutique (I told them my original was scratched and for some reason they had a used one) and it works great with the imported hardware. So my whole setup is nice and Platinum-y.

Ahhh, but did you import two silver - platinum is only the Western name - memory cards or do you have ugly black and gray sticking out of your 'Cube?

I ordered a Game Boy Player Start-Up Disc direct from Nintendo at the same time I bought GameCube component video cable.

And I haven't even imported a Game Boy Player yet.

But I'm not sure why you had to import your silver Wave Birds from Taiwan. There are plenty of American import Web sites that sell them without those currency conversion fees, high shipping fees, and painfully long shipping times.
