Moose is good. I would never shoot one, but if someone offers me some steaks, I don't turn them down.
They can indeed be dangerous. Mom was off in the distance, and the pics were taken on my back porch, about four feet from the back door.

It looks like the older brother showed up today. We guess he's probably a two year old. The fact that he still has his antlers is a bit curious.

And for the cat lovers: two of my five...

Dial-up users are probably cursing this thread by now, so that's probably about it for my fabulous photo thread...
Unless more moose show up.

One can imagine the thoughts going through the two parties minds:
Cat: Sheeeeiiiiiiiit!!!!
Moose: Oh come on! Stop being such a chicken. Let's fight.

I like how the moose appears to have his hackles up. Ever read the children's book A Moose for Jessica? True story, with photos, about a male Vermont moose who becomes enamoured of a farmer's cow named Jessica, and courts her for weeks. Amazing! Look it up on Amazon.
Very cool, AKcrab!
I know you know this - but for any city-folk who see this and want to pet one of these Bullwinkle's next time they visit the wild, be careful! Moose look uncoordinated and silly, but they are fast, and the mommas are VERY protective of baby.
Cute kitties too!
