In the end, what a man wants is to **** a girl.

MacNN Troubleshooting 50 posts Dec 29, 2003 to Dec 30, 2003
Each time I go to a party, this fact strikes me.

Generally, a man will put aside friendship to **** a girl.

This part of human nature is so sad. In the end, all a man wants is a girl to ****, and so what if he loses friends.

This is what happened. I really love this girl, Maria. I met her this summer and since then, we've been seeing each other more or less often during weekends.

So last night, there was a party at my house, and I invited those two friends that I normally never invite to parties (simply because they don't fit well in my "usual" gang) and I tell them: "I'm trying to get this girl, Maria, please don't ... cruise her.. please. She will be with her friend, Anne which is equally beautiful, so you can just cruise Anne." And I was in heaven, because I thought I might get Maria and that they'd leave us alone.

Oh well, you guessed it, it did not happen. The two guys were on Maria with a bottle of whiskey, trying to cruise her. All night. The cool part is, she didn't look too interested. Bah.

And usually, we're VERY good friends. But I'm just going to avoid them now.

I don't blame them personally (even tho, they could have just... not cruised her). I just blame human nature.

If at one period of my life, i'm able to "override" this "default" human behaviour on a daily basis, I'll consider I will have reached one of my highest goal in life.

Feel free to ignore this thread. Or not.
you should have gone out and kicked their asses. then go back to Maria and she would have been "oooh ambush you so sexy" in a spanish accent, then she would have been like "2 dolla for sucky sucky" and then she would have seen your cut dick and been like "you suck ass" then went out and did your two friends. at the same time.
I hope that all works out well in the end for you and Maria. If you love her, try asking for her hand in marriage. New Years Eve would be perfect.
maybe there is a reason that they don't hang out with you and your usual friends? judging by their behaviour, it doesn't sound like they have anything but their own interests in mind.

you should be happy that maria didn't fall for them too. maybe she is a good judge of character.

I hope you're joking...
Two immutable facts of human nature:

1) All men are pigs.

2) All women are bitches.

Note: The above rule applies to everyone on the face of the earth at some time or other. Being either does not necessarily make you a bad person, just human. We're just animals with shoes and unrealistic moral expectations.

And of course every man wants to **** a girl, even if it's their friends girl. If that wasn't the case you wouldn't have marriage, divorce, and country music.

sad but true.
What planet is wdlove from?

And what does "cruise her" mean?
Good (male) friends always subscribe to the age old rule... Bros before Hoes

It's lame that I don't know how to spell "hoes" in that context... But I don't generally call women that, so I forgive myself.

[/PAT ON BACK]
Those guys aren't your friend. Some of my guy friends are the worst womanizers that have walked the earth and no matter how drunk they get or how attractive the girl I am dating at the time is they would never cross that line. Even with ex's.
Those people are your friends. Are there guys who I may know who would do this type of thing, sure. But I would know better than to leave them alone with a girl I was interested in.

Honestly, it sounds like this chick has you pegged for a friend not a romantic interest. If you have been working her since summer and 5 months later you haven't closed the deal then there is something up. If you are hooking up with her this long and she hasn't asked you to commit then she is having fun and not going to be looking for a boyfriend anytime soon. If she hasn't put out by now and you have really seen her every weekend for all these months then the odds are that she isn't going to be digging your junk in the near future.

I wouldn't read too much into what those guys did. If she was at that party to "be with you" then they wouldn't have had the space to work her, even if she wasn't responsive to them. You should be far more concerned that you are pining away for someone for almost half a year and you've made no progress.

Normally I can sense that easily with a girl. If she wants to be just a friend or a "romantic friend" like you say.

But with that girl, it's just more complicated. And trust me if I knew she did not want me, I'd leave her alone.

For some reasons (bad karma, probably ) each time I try to get close to her something happens and prevents me.

The other time it was her drunk friend. She was "stuck" to me and would not leave me alone.

Reality hits like a motherfarker.

But that is not to say that you cannot become friends with benefits. Good luck, and may the force be with you.

True, but he REALLY likes her. It will just be torture if he gets some and she can still go get on other guys. GRANTED, I believe no girl can have a physical realtionship with a guy for more than a few weeks without getting emotionally involved/attached but in this case the odds are still against things working out for this guy.

Bush needs to move in or forget about it.... if you don't see her tits by the 1st of the year you need to move on.

No he is not. All his answers sound like they come out of the Ned Flanders handbook.

Yes, human nature generally can be attributed to this, in the end, subconsciously, all guys want to do is have sex with women. It's innate to propagate genetic material. In your case, however, it would have been easily possible for them to make a conscious effort not to "cruise" Maria if they are decent friends or friends at all and if you did indeed tell them not to. They sound like immature idiots, lose 'em.

You're probably confused because he said he "really loves" her, but "love" is really thrown around too haphazardly these days. Ambush isn't old enough for marriage, and maybe not even old enough to know what love really can bealthough I could be wrong about both.
I love my cats and my friends but I ain't asking for their hands in nothin'
With my friends I always had this rule, that we would not mess with each others girls. We always discussed who was interested, and kind of decided who would talk to which girl.

I do not necessarily agree that a man only wants to **** a girl, but I can see that around some age and environment (mainly college) level this might be true.

I know that my realy friends would never do such a thing with a girl I am interested in.

t
Sounds like your friends are either jerks or they were just screwing with you.

Sneak into their homes in the middle of the night and scare the crap out of them. Then threaten their lives and tell them not to cruise your woman again - or else. It also helps if you break something valuable, for effect. BTW, Wear a black leather jacket whilst doing all this.
If they apologetically talk to you afterwards, they're your friends. If not, get new friends.

Or better yet, have you tried to talk to the woman in question? Does she want you?
What happened to the old fashioned "date"?

You know, where the two of you go do something...

Think that died after we felt the effects of the women's movement. Now we are not sure what the **** our roles are anymore in North America. Now I read in the latest fashion mag's that women are looking for that primitive guy. Remember the sensitive guy **** in the 90's. Now it is primitive. Note to women. Men will always be primitive. We just want to ****. The sensitive **** was obviously a facade, as we were adapting to the trends of the times so we could ****.

But seriously. People are different, so my experience only applies to me, but: If you "love/feel for" her and didn't bang her after some time (1-20 days) spent together, forget it. Why? One might say:" Sex is not too important for us." OK. Once it will be for sure. You can love her as much as you are able to, after a while you will want to f*ck every good looking girl you see, and blame her for that. This will not work for too long.

In my opinion/experience, a good really good relationship can emerge, when you get to know someone, and, at first, it's just plain porn. Then, after some time, you see the soul/character and learn to love that too, THAT is ber-awsome! But no one can plan this...

That would have been a good idea in week 2 or 3 but by now he just has to get in her pants. They know each other well enough at this point. All that is left is to see is if she wants to get naked for him on a regular basis. Romantic gestures at this juncture would smell of desperation and only make what he wants less plausible.

Must have been a while since you shacked up with a 20 year old, huh Crabs? The only good idea the cheeseballs have given you is that New Years is your best shot. If ever a holiday existed to get some it is New Years... and halloween, and 4th of July, and Presidents' Day is very under rated.
You need new friends. Real friends.

No matter what, I would not get with a girl that a friend had an eye on; nor a friends ex.

And I know, for a fact, that neither would they.

Doesn't really sound like these guys are great friends at all.

Well they were my "real" friends, until now.

Yes, your friends will bone your girl at the first opportunity.

You are dumb to expect otherwise.

There are two ways to deal with this fact...

1) accept it

2) lie to yourself

My life would be much simpler right now if my friends would view the matter of best friends' exes the same way you and I do. It's a pretty simple concept to me, they're off limits, no questions asked.

As of this week, two of my 'best friends' have made a move on my ex-gf, who I was together with for over 2 years.

Okay, this I don't get.
I mean, you're talking about an ex. A woman with whom you no longer have a relationship. In my book, that means she's available.

Disagree completely.

Once a person in a circle of close friends has been out with a girl, she is out of bounds to the the rest of them; ESPECIALLY if she was a friend of said circle.

A close friend of mine is going out with an ex of mine, but she and I only went out for a month, so it was no big deal.

If a friend of mine got onto one of my more substantial ex girlfriends, then they'd be copping a lot more than just what she was giving them.
Yeah, what's wrong with dating a friend's Ex as long as they don't love each other anymore and they don't hate each other either.
Rule #1: Don't go treading on a friend's tag.

Rule #2: It's OK to date a friend's ex. Good form to ask him if it's OK first.
Does this theory also work with Gay men?

Maybe in your corner of the world but if that were true for me I would demand that friend's little sisters and their moms be put on the table as fair game. It is OK if it was just a girl you dated or screwed around with. But if we are talking about real Exs, the girls one had a serious relationship with, then that is about as hallowed ground as the above. Crap like that jeopardizes friendships.
Sounds like you need better friends.

If you can't trust your friends around your girl - then you're really saying you can't trust your girl.

People are gonna do what people want to do.

She isn't 'your girl' if she's interested in other guys.

I agree with you, but think it depends on the situation, sometimes the original guy barely dates the girl before it's over.

Asking if it's okay before you make the move is fine; if it's not okay, don't make the move; if it's okay, you may eventually find yourself in a meaningful relationship you wouldn't otherwise have gotten into.
