Why are Honda's so UGLY?

Why are Honda's so UGLY? Troubleshooting 50 posts Dec 30, 2003 — Jan 2, 2004
You know Honda's have never exactly been on the bleeding edge of style. And lots of other car makers make ugly cars. But no other car maker make's so ugly, across the board, that it makes me wanna start a thread about it!! Its almost like they are purposely trying to make their cars look ugly. And that Element is the single ugliest thing I have ever seen on 4 wheels!!! Thats including all the Hyundai's, all the Kias, and all the Sizukis. Back in the 90's, they were alright looking, and its like they made each model uglier for the new millennium. I am shocked they cars even sell!!!
i don't think hondas are particularly ugly. Just boring. yawn.

If you want ugly, check out the pontiac asstek, or the chevy SSR.
The SSR is definitely ODD, but is it even OUT for real? The Aztek it ugly, but most hondas, and especially the Element, is absolutely REPULSIVE.
I agree that the Element is an acquired taste, but the S2000 is ugly? Honda certainly does not make cars that make you stare, but ugly across the board?

Ugly is such a strong word.

Let us be a bit analytical about this. What aspects do you find ugly?
The S200 is definitely the least worst looking car they make. But still when you see it, it just looks like a Z3 knock-off. Like that Napster wannabe-iPod. Plus just go to hondacars.com and look through their models. The Element, the CRV, even the Civic is UGLY, it used to be an average, plain car, now its UGLY!
how can you say any car is uglier than the Aztek?
I think around 1994 or 1995 Honda made cars that looked pretty good. Looking before or after then, they get ugly. Their current sedan models look OK, but that's about it.

The Element is FUGLY. I wouldn't have my car seen in the same parking lot as one of those.
also, keep in mind acura is a division of honda - so technically, you can consider the Acura NSX. (drool)
Civics look okay, and Acuras look nice.
I think all hondas-acuras are ugly, even their best looking cars are just design rip offs of good looking german cars. Just like the iPod and the dell dj, one is beautiful and one is not.
They're disgusting.

On the other hand, that stupid box-shaped toyota car far surpasses ANYTHING as the ugliest car on the planet (bar none).

It should be banned for ugliness >_>
I just want to know why so many old ladies drive Hondas! In this area, every other Honda is driven by a little, grey-haired old lady - usually well over the speed limit. Maybe the Honda salespeople know how to pick an easy mark.

As for ugly, the Hummer beats anything that Honda has ever put out.
Actually, I'd say that Dodge has uglier cars than any other company, far more so than Honda or Toyota. Toyota at least has the celica. Every time I see a Dodge Neon I want to kick the ****ing thing.

How's that for ugly ?
The wonderful Lada 111
In my opinion, Subaru has the ugliest cars on the road. Followed closely by Toyota. Honda is in the middle of the ugly list.

I don't think any manufacturer makes all cars that are good looking. Each one has his ugly little step-son hiding in a shed out back.

Oh yeah, now that I think about it, damn right
Honda's have always been plain and conservative looking. Though the recent designs have been less attractive. The Accord is the least appealing to me. I don't think the Element is ugly but it is uncoventional. The S2000 is Honda's best looking vehicle.

I think Audi makes the best looking cars inside and out.
The first time I saw a black Element, I mistook it for a petite hearse.
Honda gets a big thumbs up otherwise, though, for being one of the first to put out a hybrid gas/electric vehicle.

<waits for erupting flames>
Honda's are not the nicest looking things on the planet but,

you could probably take the car to 300thousand miles
change the oil and water only after it over heats in a big poofy cloud
drive it into your local river, pull it out, dry it out
crash it into a telephone pole in reverse and then head on
Replace the bumper and it's as good as new
I voted all four, because I could.
I don't think that the Honda is all that ugly. The design has improved over the years.
They may be efficient, and reliable. Honda probably makes the best small engines out there, hell thier ATV's are awesome. But their cars still make me want to vomit on them.

I don't think the WRX looks that bad. Although when I think of Subaru, I don't think of something that looks like that.

I thought the Toyota Prius was out before the Honda Insight?

Anyway, the Element is odd looking, but have you seen one - they're very practical and configurable.

A little off topic: Do you know what I find odd? That people value the appearance of their vehicle so much, and will even spend thousands more for a prettier or trendier vehicle, but then say things like "yeah, those Mac computers are nice looking and have a nice interface, but I wouldn't buy one because they are so expensive."
Acura, Honda, and Subaru are just fine.

However, Buick, Hyundai, Kia, and Saturn are just a disgrace.

Hey.. the Element may not target your age or type.. so why bother to start a thread like this?

eMachine and Gateway PCs are ugly, but still many people bought them.
I dont think the poll is fair to rate how ugly Honda's are, as it doesn't specify this is about their cars.... yes they are ugly, but their sportbikes are sweet! or am I the only biker here?

No, there are a few others (myself included.)

If I had the cash to buy a new sportbike, it was be a Honda for sure. When I bought my bike 4 years ago, I settled on a '95 Ninja 500. I wanted a CBR, but for what I paid for my Kawasaki, it would've been an '89 CBR with 60,000 km. :/ They just don't lose their value! The Suzuki's were cheap though, I could've got a 92-93 for cheap. I don't like Suzuki though.
I liked my Del Sol for the eight years I had it. A fun little car, especially in the winter.

i have a honda and i love it...so you can bite me jungle fever man but some are ugly...the element is butt ugly...so is the insight...but the accord, civic, pilot, and crv are sweet imho.
