What was the name of The X-Files Theme Song before it was The X-Files Theme Song?

Hmm...I think it was probably written just for the X-Files, so I doubt it has any other name.

I don't think there was an original, it was composed FOR the X-Files, just how most theme songs come to be.

I was also under the impression that it was written for the show, until my special lady friend said otherwise. Perhaps she was wrong, in which case that would be awesome.

From what our friends at google say, your special lady friend is indeed wrong. The best I can find is the name of the artist: Iceman.

My initial googling also brought up the name "Iceman," but it seemed that it was just his mix of the song rather than the original.

On a side note, Safari recognizes "googling" as a real word.
