now I haven't but has anyone here ran with the bull's. one of my co-workers did it and survived. I would do it, if I were far ahead of the slow people.

I bet I could outrun Jerry Reinsdorf, even if he were wearing white socks.

I was 22, just outta college. I travelled in Spain, amongst other places, ended up in France, long story. I also attended some corridas in Madrid.
Apparently some American kid my age had been killed the year before... But evreyone was saying it was only the stupid tourist who died - they did stupid things like get up when they they were down, and ran on the outside of the corners.
I heard about the touching thing, but nobody said anything to me at the time. I was just after a big Hemingway, Blood in the Afternoon experience. And yes it's risky. The streets are narrow, and crowded and well I wasn't going to do it, except I was with these two Spanish friends that practically forced me to. The bulls near me didn't really seem to be going after anyone, but I was being pushed forward by the throng. And then it was over, and I went and drank about a thousand beers.
It's stupid because it's risky, and frankly I'd just as soon leave it to the locals and watch. After all it's the noobs who get killed the most often, giving it a bad name.
edit: wow, 96 was eight frigging years ago! How old am I?

Yeah, but b/w the battle of the assistant coaches Cartwright was beating Paxson during practice left and right down the court...
